One Thing Every Christian Must Understand About Salvation

One Thing Every Christian Must Understand About Salvation

The one thing every Christian absolutely must understand about our common salvation is that salvation is by grace through faith, and not of works. This is summed up in Ephesians 2:8-9, which says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Let's break down this concept into bite-sized pieces, and look at each part individually.

Yet 13 More Prophecies Proving Jesus Is the Messiah

  • hated without cause

    • Psalm 35:19 - Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
    • fulfilled in John 15:24 - If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

13 More Prophecies Proving Jesus Is the Messiah

  • preceded by a messenger

    • Malachi 3:1 - Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
    • fulfilled in Luke 7:24-27 - (24) And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind? (25) But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts. (26) But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. (27) This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

Bible Study on Separation Versus Division

How can a Christian know the differences between separation from the world and the sinful act of causing division among brethren? In this study, we'll look at warnings and instruction from nearly every book of the New Testament.

What Is Rebuke?

In this study, we will examine the question, "What is rebuke?" by digging into the meaning behind the words used.

A Bible Study on Scorners

In this bible study, we will examine the scriptures to see how we can recognize a scorner, and what are their behaviors.

This bible study will take us mostly through the proverbs but will touch on any other necessary verses. Please feel free to print and share this bible study with your study group or Sunday school.

Answering an Atheist According to His Folly

After posting a link to my article, The Atheist and Their Stolen Morality, on the Christianity section on Reddit, an atheist took offense and posted an angry response. It was clear that he/she only had a superficial knowledge of the scriptures. This commenter was obviously angry with God, letting loose a barrage of blasphemous accusations.

You can view the comments here:

I originally posted my response to the comment by YRM_DM on Reddit as a reply to the original remarks, but I decided to remove it. In 2 Timothy 2:16 it says, "But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness." I thought it would be best to post it here instead, where it would be less likely to engender more foul comments against the creator.

But the Bible also says in Proverbs 26:5, "Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit."

Without further ado, here is my answer.

13 Prophecies Proving Jesus Is the Messiah

    • Genesis 3:15 - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
    • fulfilled in Galatians 4:4 - But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Exposing 6 Lies About Easter

Many people really enjoy the coming Easter celebrations. Many will take part in Lent, sunrise service, baking and eating the Easter ham, choosing a new suit or an Easter bonnet. There will be Easter egg hunts and Easter baskets full of those little yellow chick-peeps, chocolate eggs, jelly bean eggs, and of course a chocolate Easter bunny along with general eating and drinking and merry-making. This sounds totally harmless and for many, it holds some fond memories that they are eager to pass on to their children.

But did you ever stop to think, what do any of these things have to do with God, Jesus Christ, the crucifixion, the resurrection, or God's Word?

I challenge you, where is the New Testament precedent for such a massive day of feasting?

Stolen Morality - Round 2

Upon posting my article The Atheist and Their Stolen Morality in Reddit's Christianity section, I received a quick rash of comments aimed at subverting God's unchangeable truth in favor of the foolish nonsense spewing from man's wicked heart. Jeremiah 17:9 says, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

An obvious atheist took offense and let loose with a barrage of false accusations against God, non-sequitor logical fallacies, and an evidently bitter hatred for God. Never mind the very subtly implied ad hominem attack that I was a brainless robot because I choose to obey the word of God.

You can view their comments here:

One contributor, though understanding some of the arguments I made, showed a plain lack of scriptural knowledge about God's stance towards a self-righteous, unrepentant denier of God.

"It is also needlessly antagonistic (stolen morality? really?). So I don't think it is an effective strategy nor a terribly helpful counter to atheist worldviews." Reddit User: WalkingHumble

I stand by the statement that an atheist is stealing morality from God. If a man breaks into your house to "borrow" your gun, only to turn around and try to shoot you with it, you wouldn't call that borrowing. In the same way, an atheist who "borrows" God's moral standards, only to turn around and try to defeat God, is stealing, not borrowing. A friend borrows, an enemy steals, generally speaking. If nothing else makes him an enemy of God, then it is his insistent denial of God while still enjoying the goodness of God.

The Bible says in Psalm 14:1, "...The fool hath said in his heart,There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." And again in Psalm 53:1, it is repeated, "...The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good."

"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." it says in Romans 8:7. And in Colossians 1:21 it says, "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled" and in Romans 5:10, "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."

This is a plain teaching of God's scripture. If you choose not to believe this, then you don't serve the God of the Bible, you've instead made a god in your own image and are turned to idols. You need to repent.

The Atheist and Their Stolen Morality

To the average Christian, atheism can seem like an impossible worldview to counter. But like any false religion, it has cracks and weak points if you know where to look.

Let's look today at the issue of morality and its source and foundation in our worldview.

Have you ever asked yourself, "Why is that wrong?" in reference to something that your conscience knows for certain is wrong, but your mind can't quite decide why it is or should be wrong?

Lets look at murder, for example. Why is murder wrong? Who decides that murder is wrong? Is it just my opinion? Is it the opinion of the majority of voters who made the laws against it? What if the majority of people think that it isn't wrong to commit murder? Does that mean that it really isn't wrong?

If you follow this line of thinking, the dilemma becomes clear. If right and wrong is only someone's opinion, then someone else can easily come through and overthrow that opinion.

To put this in clearer terms, lets say that you have a large sum of money in your wallet and a man, who we will call Bill, steals your money. You would cry foul immediately. How dare he steal your money, because, of course, you know it is wrong to steal.

More Intolerance from the Tolerance Movement

I was browsing through ChristianPost.com this morning and an article caught my eye.

A florist and owner of Arlene's Flowers from Richland, Washington, Barronelle Stutzman, took a stand against the abomination of sodomy when she refused to make a floral arrangement for a sodomite "marriage". And now her livelihood is being threatened in the courts by the radical left.

You can view the article by Samuel Smith, a Christian Post reporter, here:

One comment to the article stated that "Bigotry coated in religion is still bigotry. Would Jesus turn away a same sex couple? No, he would not. She will be judged when it is her time and she has turned her back on the Lord." QUOTE - CP FRIEND, JOEL BUTLER

I don't know what Jesus this guy is referring to, but it isn't the Jesus of the Bible. Jesus made it plain in his word that "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." (Leviticus 18:22) God the Son also makes it plain that we can't socialize even with one of the brethren who fornicates. "But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator...with such an one no not to eat." (I Corinthians 5:11)

It gave me joy to see this woman doing what we all should do, standing unwavering in the face of persecution to the glory of Jesus Christ. We should pray for her and pass on her story.

3 Ways We Hinder God's Blessings

In this article, we will examine some of the ways that we hinder God's blessings on our lives through sin and the works of the flesh.

We forget that God is sovereign.

If you watch any global news channel, you can quickly become overrun with visions of war, genocide, famine, pestilence, natural disasters, and government corruption.
